You can update your Nokia 5800XM to the new firmware v40.0.5 using  OTA (Over The Air) method(*#0000#) , or through Nokia’s Software Updater  on your PC.

Nokia 5800XM does support UDP , but everyone would recommend you to take a backup of ur phone’s data. Enjoy
