Nokia N950 PR1.2

Nokia N950 PR1.2 is OUT! Nokia Developer Forum today announced the release of PR 1.2 version for the Nokia N950 Meego Developer Device. This is a new firmware with lot of bug fixes and new features such as dropbox integration, folder support etc.. This firmware is available for the N950 owners via OCF aka One Click Flashers which can be downloaded at Harmattan 1.2 beta for N950 (3.2011.02-6) OCF download . Please note that its not available via OTA and you cant go back to the old firmware once it is flashed.

      This firmware is expected to release for N9 in two weeks :-) .

        Absolutely great, this is one of the main missing features with such a social enabled device.

        Do the notification come with sound as well, like all other notifications like mail, sms and alarms?

      Yup it’s nice. The draggable icons are quite big and easy to move around too.

    Any change to photo gallery in twitter (and perhaps 3rd party apps).  It’s one of the worst experiences having to scroll through all your photo’s to get to your most recent one when composing a tweet, especially as it has trouble keeping up and it’s easy to see a blank screen that gradually gets filled up with pictures in the photo selector.

      The recent photos are at the top now and Finally! Default twitter picture upload is integrated into gallery :D

      Front camera can’t be accessed in camera UI it’s just for video calls :-)

        Yeah I’ve been following most of the nastiest battery drain bugs…
        And for reasons that defy logic, they may have the fixes for many of them in PR1.2.

      There is official RX/RDS being worked on…
      Not part of the main teams work, but endorsed & supported by nokia (inc one of their devs)

      There isn’t enough resources/time for TX. The community may eventually be able to do it.
      javispedro the main community dev, has ruled-out N950, but isn’t 100% sure that N9 can’t do TX.
      He needs access to a N9 before he can be sure…

        Hi Jalyst, saw that forum and tried that app last time u suggested it( I believe you suggested it to me on nokia conversations)… The app doesnt function well. I tried several reboots etc, dev mode is on… etc…

        Also, I found something. I enable the radio nothing works, but immideately I open a music player, play and pause the music – then I hear some sound from radio for some 5 secs…

        Anyways, my question is that if the fm tx and rx is included in the new firmware… :)

          If you’d read the entire thread then you’d know why RX/TX won’t be in the new fw.
          You’d also know that there’s more recent work, with an improved daemon etc.
          Try again… the whole thing remember, from page 3…

    I keep coming back to this great post to drool over those photos!  :P

    Any other pics you think would be useful to show the fans? How about some info on the smaller bug fixes or tweaks. Is it generally faster? I have avoided the current range of mod apps available (that speed up transitions, etc) only because other people have reported problems or certain things going missing. If it was implemented by the N9 team in PR1.2 however, it would be golden.

    Do you notice any difference with overall responsiveness, similar to my clunky E7 going into ‘turbo mode’ after Anna?  :)

      Much faster , small cute sounds when closing app and opening the four shortcuts by swiping ;-)

        Nice!!  There is also some mention (Twitter I think) from Nokia about a likely PR1.3 coming this year too – they said something like “a small but important update”. 

        What are your thoughts/guesses/opinions on what this might be? Actual video calling/proper use of front camera, maybe?
