Track and Protect from Klomptek now available for Symbian^3 Devices

Track and Protect helps us to track your smartphone when it’s lost and delete the data remotely to save your privacy. Today Klomptek announces that the new version of Track and Protect is out for Symbian^3 devices. This new version comes with new “auto-mugshot” feature that will capture a photo of anyone attempting to break the phone’s passcode. If the N8, C7 or E7 device is locked either at startup or on scheduled lock or after a remote lock via the TnP web panel a six-digit personal passcode is required to re-enable the phone’s features. After a third mistyped identification attempt, TnP activates the front camera of the phone without warning, taking a mugshot of the person trying to unlock the phone and displaying it on the owner’s account page at www.trackandprotect.com. In addition, the location of the phone is displayed on a map and, if the SIM has been changed, TnP will report the new phone number and operator ID.
From Klomptek:
“The ‘auto-mugshot’ feature optimized for smartphones is distinct to Track and Protect,” said Robert Harmsen, CEO of Klomptek. “The front face camera produces good-quality, recognizable images even in low-light conditions, which can make all the difference when it comes to finding the person who has your phone. Those high-res photography components become an additional measure against theft, which is a use that Nokia may not have anticipated while in development, but can ultimately help protect smartphone users.
What is Track and Protect ?
TnP is a remote management tool and security application that allows users to monitor, lock and wipe data from a lost or stolen cell phone. In addition to being able to secure content on the device through remote commands sent via the TnP web service, users are able to track the location of the missing phone in real time through the TnP online mapping system and take photographs from the device of its present surroundings, with the ability to listen in and capture images of the phone’s current possessor. TnP allows users to collect enough information — including current location, new phone number, operator ID and facial photographs — to generate a substantive police report.
We have got some 25 licences with free credits to try the track and protect. The first twenty five comments will get one key to try…
